Join us for our Step Up for Down Syndrome Awareness Walk benefiting the Texarkana Chapter of the Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society. The event is aimed at raising awareness and funds for members of RRVDSS and includes a one-mile walk during the event. The Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society hosts this annual awareness and fundraising event which helps to bring the community together and fund general operation costs of the organization.
What Can You Expect at the Step Up Walk?
Great things! Lots of fun, time to visit, games to play! The annual event is more than a walk - it's a festival! A family event, kids can have fun winning prizes at the variety of carnival games, enjoying the inflatable activities and so much more! The event begins at 10:00am and includes festivities and a one-mile walk on the trail.

Why Walk With Us?
The Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk is held to celebrate Down syndrome Awareness Month in October. The Step Up Walk is meant to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society utilizes the annual event to raise funds locally to fund its many programs and services available to its members.

Will You Step Up To The Challenge?
New for 2010: Top Individual Fundraising Competition!
In order to spur a little friendly competition between all the teams and the individual walkers on each team, we are adding our first Individual Fundraising Competition with awards to be given out to:
- The Top Individual Fundraiser on each team – special recognition will be given on the day of the walk.
- The Top Overall Individual Fundraiser – special recognition will be given on the day of the walk and a gift card will be awarded. The gift card amount will be based on the total of the funds raised by the individual.
*If the total funds are $999 and under, the gift card will be for $50
*If the total funds are $1000 and over, the gift card will be for $100
ALL FUNDS MUST BE TURNED IN BY EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ON OCTOBER 9, 2010 IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS COMPETITION
