Deanna Tharpe, who founded the organization in 2004, has been serving as Executive Director since the fall of 2006.  Deanna grew up in southeast Oklahoma and received her Bachelor's degree in Social Science at Texas A&M-Commerce.  Having spent the last 18 years in broadcasting, she left radio in 2006 to become the organization's employee.

Deanna lives in Blossom with her husband, Jason, and two sons, Jakob and Joel.  Joel, who has Down syndrome, is the inspiration for the Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society.
