World Down Syndrome Day takes place on 21 March every year. This date (3.21) represents the 3 copies of chromosome 21, which is unique to people with Down syndrome.

The goals of World Down Syndrome Day are to promote awareness and understanding, seek international support, and to achieve dignity, equal rights and a better life for people with Down syndrome everywhere.

Activities and events held on World Down Syndrome Day can have a tremendous impact, showcasing the abilities, talents and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.

As you probably already know, a major goal of the Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society (RRVDSS) is awareness of Down syndrome.

RRVDSS would like your help in implementing “Dress Down for Down Syndrome” in recognition of World Down Syndrome Day. We would like to see businesses and schools, in our area, allow their employees to dress casually, on March 21st in honor of your support of individuals with Down syndrome.  We'd also like to see many individuals get involved with us on this day.

RRVDSS is offering ribbons and t-shirts this year for the Dress Down campaign.  For $2 per person, RRVDSS will supply a support ribbon. For a donation of $10, each participant will receive a t-shirt and a support ribbon.  Any donation that we receive will go towards programs that RRVDSS implements in our local area.

Payments and orders must be submitted to RRVDSS by March 9th, to ensure delivery.  You can print this form and mail it with payment to PO Box 6455 Paris TX 75461 or you can place your order online by clicking here.
